Nitroguanidine belongs to Class 1.1 explosives, which are prone to explosion due to impact, friction, and high temperature in a dry state. The dust is toxic and irritating to the respiratory tract. Strict control requirements apply to operation, storage, transportation, emergency response, and protection, and are explained in six modules:
1、 Hard control of operational tasks (core explosion-proof)
personnel qualification
Operators must receive specialized explosion-proof training and hold relevant certificates before taking up their posts. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering the work area; Smoking, carrying lighters, mobile phones, walkie talkies, and metal sparks are strictly prohibited in the work area. Wireless transmission equipment and spark devices are also prohibited within 100 meters.
Eliminate impact, friction, and vibration (most importantly)
It is strictly prohibited to knock, drop, or roll material buckets, and it is forbidden to dry sweep, grind, or crush nitroguanidine with metal shovels or hard brushes;
All non sparking tools such as copper and aluminum are used, and equipment and material barrels are grounded throughout the entire process to eliminate static electricity;
Handle with care during transportation, and do not drag or dump quickly to prevent dust and friction.
Dust control, temperature control, ventilation
The entire wet process requires stable moisture content of ≥ 15% for desensitization of dried nitroguanide; Try to avoid dust as much as possible and equip with local explosion-proof dust removal;
The working environment temperature should be ≤ 30 ℃, kept away from steam pipelines, heating equipment, and welding heat sources, and the distance between heat sources should be ≥ 300mm;
The workshop is a Class A explosion-proof building, with all electrical, fan, and lighting components being explosion-proof.
Taboos on material compatibility
It is strictly prohibited to mix or store with oxidants (chlorates, ammonium perchlorate, ammonium nitrate), strong bases, aluminum magnesium metal powders, and flammable organic compounds; After mixing, it significantly increases the sensitivity to detonation and is highly prone to spontaneous combustion and explosion.
On site limited edition
The temporary storage capacity in the workshop is strictly controlled, and only the amount used during the shift is retained. Any excess materials are immediately returned to the dedicated explosives warehouse.
2、 Personal protection (anti irritation, anti inhalation poisoning)
Nitroguanidine dust irritates the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract, and decomposes at high temperatures to produce toxic nitrogen oxides. A complete set of protection must be provided:
Breathing: Full face dust and gas mask, long tube respirator for large amounts of dust;
Eyes: Independent chemical goggles, cannot be replaced by a face mask alone;
Body: anti-static tight sleeve protective clothing, long rubber shoes, acid and alkali resistant rubber gloves;
Supporting facilities: Emergency eye wash stations and shower devices are installed on site; Clean the entire body after homework, store work clothes separately for cleaning, and do not take them out of the workshop.
3、 Storage and Preservation Standards
Warehouse requirements
Storage of Level 1 specialized explosives warehouse, single story, without basement, fire-resistant Level 2; Cool, dry and ventilated, with storage temperature ≤ 30 ℃ and humidity < 80%; Ground cushion cushioning to prevent hard objects from hitting the barrel.
Desensitization and Moisturizing
Long term storage requires stable addition of water with a moisture content of ≥ 15%; Regularly check the sealing of the container to prevent moisture from evaporating and drying out; Once dried, the sensitivity sharply increases.
Partition isolation
Separate storage, isolated from oxidants, acids and bases, combustibles, and metal powders; The barrel is upright and sealed, with strict control over stacking height to prevent squeezing and collision.
Reservoir Area Management
24-hour dedicated personnel on duty and video surveillance; Maintenance and hot work are prohibited within the warehouse area; Fire fighting equipment is only equipped with foggy water and foam, and it is strictly prohibited to cover explosives with sand and dry powder.
