What should be noted when storing Trimethyl Orthoacetate

      Trimethyl Orthoacetate belongs to the category of medium flash point flammable liquid, easily hydrolyzed, and hazardous to acid/oxidant. Storage core: cool and low-temperature, strictly sealed, dry and moisture-proof, separately partitioned, explosion-proof and anti-static.

1、 Environment and temperature (anti volatilization, anti explosion)

      Warehouse dedicated: independent hazardous goods warehouse, cool, dry, ventilated, and dark.

Strict temperature control: ≤ 30 ℃, keep away from fire sources, heat sources, steam pipelines, and direct sunlight.

       Ventilation and explosion-proof: explosion-proof exhaust fan+explosion-proof lighting, external switch; No open flames, smoking, or spark tools are allowed.

       Static electricity protection: warehouse grounding, barrel grounding; Control the filling flow rate and prevent static electricity accumulation.

2、 Sealing and moisture-proof (anti hydrolysis, anti deterioration)

       Container sealing: Original galvanized iron drum/corrosion-resistant plastic drum, double-layer sealed barrel mouth, strictly prohibited from opening.

       Drying priority: extremely moisture-proof, slowly hydrolyzes in contact with water/moisture, producing methanol (toxic, causing blindness) and acetate.

       Nitrogen protection: For long-term storage, it is recommended to seal with nitrogen to isolate air and water vapor.

       Humidity control: Warehouse humidity ≤ 60% , equipped with dehumidifier, dry ground without water accumulation.

3、 Isolation and prohibition (to prevent reactions and accidents)

       Separate partition: Mixed storage is strictly prohibited and isolated from the following substances≥ 5m :

       Strong oxidants (hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, nitric acid)

       Strong acid/strong base (hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, NaOH)

       Halogens, alcohols, food, and animal feed.

       Zone signage: Clearly hang warning signs for flammable liquids, moisture prevention, no smoking, and static grounding.

4、 Packaging and stacking (leak proof, damage proof)

       Packaging specification: Class II packaging, galvanized iron drum (180/200L) or HDPE sealed drum, with wall thickness meeting the standard, no damage or rust.

       Stacking requirements: Ground clearance ≥ 10cm, wall clearance ≥ 30cm, ventilation channel ≥ 1.2m; number of layers ≤ 2, anti extrusion deformation.

       Regular inspection: Check the barrel body daily for leaks, bulges, and rust; Weekly re inspection of sealing and grounding.

5、 Fire Protection and Emergency Response (Preventing Expansion and Loss Reduction)

       Fire extinguishing equipment: dry powder, CO ₂, foam fire extinguishers are provided in the storage area; It is strictly prohibited to spray water directly (to prevent flowing fire and hydrolysis).

       Leakage treatment: A small amount of leakage is collected by adsorption with dry sand, dry lime, and soda ash; A large amount of leakage is blocked by building embankments, explosion-proof pumps are recovered, and entry into the sewer is prohibited.

6、 Personnel and ledger (compliant, traceable)

       Professional training: Personnel understand the risks of flammability, hydrolysis, and gas prevention, and are able to handle emergency situations.

       Protective clothing: Wear anti-static clothing, goggles, oil resistant rubber gloves, and anti-static shoes when entering the warehouse.

       Clear ledger: complete records of incoming and outgoing goods, with dates, quantities, batch numbers, and expiration dates marked; First in, first out, shelf life ≤ 12 months.
