Phosphoric acid (especially 85% concentrated phosphoric acid and thermal phosphoric acid) belongs to acidic corrosive products. The key storage points are leak proof, heat-resistant, moisture-proof, anti mixed storage, and anti reaction. I have compiled it into a concise and industrial version that can be directly used on site
Key points for storage of phosphoric acid
1.storage environment
Cool, dry, well ventilated, away from fire and heat sources, and the storage temperature should not exceed 30 ℃.
Keep the container sealed to prevent moisture absorption, dilution or splashing.
2.Container requirements
Prioritize the use of polyethylene plastic drums (PE), fiberglass reinforced plastic, and stainless steel (316L) storage tanks.
The use of active metal containers such as iron, carbon steel, aluminum, zinc, etc. is strictly prohibited as they may corrode and produce hydrogen gas.
3.Strictly prohibit mixed storage
It must be stored separately and is strictly prohibited from being mixed with alkali, flammable materials, cyanides, and metal powders.
Contact with strong alkalis (such as caustic soda and liquid ammonia) will result in intense heat release and splashing; Encountering cyanide can produce highly toxic gases.
4.Operation and Protection
The storage tank is equipped with overflow prevention, acid resistant cofferdam, and leakage collection pool.
Handle and unload with care to prevent damage; Operators should wear acid resistant gloves, goggles, and anti-corrosion protective clothing.
5.Leakage and Emergency Response
A small amount of leakage is treated by mixing sand and dry lime for neutralization.
A large amount of leakage should be transferred and recovered by a pump, and direct flushing into the sewer is prohibited.
6.Identification and Management
Clearly post signs for corrosive and hazardous materials.
Assign a dedicated person to manage, establish a ledger, and regularly check the sealing of containers
